DC area folks~ join Loyalty Bookstores, DC Public Library, and Kwento Collective for DC’s inaugural Liwanag Filipino Lit Fest, taking place on Sunday, October 27th at Loyalty Petworth and the Petworth Neighborhood Library!
Building on the work of our sister festival, Liwanag Lit Fest in Long Beach hosted by Bel Canto Books, we aim to shine a light in the DMV on Filipino literature and authors from the diaspora.
I’ll also be moderating the author panel, “Memory as Resistance: Preserving Filipino History through Art, Activism, and Narrative.” The panel features a powerhouse lineup: Gina Apostol, M. Evelina Galang, and Lysley Tenorio.
